At the main morning service on October 26th the 65th anniversary of the Mothers Union in the parish was celebrated. Members of the Mothers Union took part in the service which was followed with a celebration in the church hall.
The celebrations continued at the Mothers Union meeting on October 30th where there was more cake and more celebrations.
We give thanks for the work of the Mothers Union in the parish and throughout the world and pray for their work today and into the future.

Voices in Harmony meet every Monday at St John's Church Hall at 5.45 pm. New members are welcome no audition required.
Choir members are rehearsing new pieces for their Annual Carol Concert Monday 15 December 2014.
This year will certainly be a 'friends and family' evening. Two excellent artistes have been engaged for the evening. International Violinist Clive Dobbins accompanied by a very proud sister Julie Dobbins our choir accompanist. Andrew Matthews (Baritone) winner of the Baritone solo and Blue Ribband at this year's National Eisteddfod at Llanelli. Andrew is a friend and past pupil of Nigel Hopkins our choir Musical Director. Our friend John Davies (organist) will once again join the choir for an evening of seasonal music and song.

This will certainly be an occasion for all the family with the young musicians of Penclawdd Junior Band accompanying tradition carols and Christmas music.
Tickets will be available in early November. This concert is usually SOLD OUT. To avoid disappointment please put your order in NOW to choir members !!

Excellent concert this evening organised as a Joseph fundraiser but outstanding on its own ! Thanks to Joan Lewis for organising it and to all who took part.
A special mention to those who came along on their birthdays - Joan Lewis, Tony Holt and Jessica and Emily Lewis who were celebrating their 13th birthday ! (that's Jessica and Emily not Joan or Tony!!)
